KUALA LUMPUR: Almost RM1.2bil worth of wealth and infrastructure was saved from going up in smoke last year, according to the city’s Fire and Rescue Department.
“That is a 95.5% rate of property not being lost to a fire, which is a massive increase from the 64% saved the year before,” its director Khirudin Drahman said after attending a firemen’s appreciation ceremony at the City Fire and Rescue headquarters yesterday.
