KOTA KINABALU: A heavy afternoon downpour left several villages and housing estates in Kota Belud under 0.3m of floodwater while a key road to northern Kudat and Kota Marudu has also been cut off.
Sabah Civil Defence Department director Col Mulliadi Al Hamid Ladin said that although the two-hour heavy rains had stopped by 5pm, the flood waters were receding very slowly due to clogged drains in the district.
