KOTA KINABALU: Security forces in eastern Sabah have sent out a fresh reminder to fishermen to fit the Automated Identification System (AIS) and radio equipment on their vessels in the wake of fresh kidnappings in the Sulu Sea off southern Philippines.
The Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom) said it would not let its guard down despite a major success earlier this month when three criminals, including a top cross-border kidnap suspect, were shot dead in Semporna.
