KUALA SELANGOR: Electrical maintenance works at the Bukit Badong substation, which is causing water disruptions in the Klang Valley, is proceeding on schedule.

Tenaga Nasional Bhd chief engineer (operations and maintenance) Ishak Muhammad Zain said the maintenance works should be completed by midnight.

"Sixty percent of the maintenance work is completed as at 3pm and it is expected to be fully completed by midnight," Ishak told reporters at the substation.

The maintenance work has resulted in the shutdown of the substation from 8am with 120 staff involved.

Ishak said it was critical that the maintenance was not postponed to prevent a flashover, which will result in a longer period of shutdown.
