Federal Court orders retrial of murder case


KUALA LUMPUR, 5 Sept -- Penarik kereta, Koong Swee Kwan, 45 (dua, kiri) dijatuhi hukuman gantung sampai mati oleh Mahkamah Tinggi di sini, selepas didapati bersalah membunuh pengasas Kumpulan Perbankan Arab-Malaysian (Ambank) Hussain Ahmad Najadi tahun lepas, di sini hari ini.Koong didakwa membunuh Hussain, 75, di tempat letak kereta Tokong Cina Kuan Yin di No 4, Lorong Ceylon di sini antara pukul 1.30 tengah hari dan 2 petang pada 29 Julai 2013 mengikut Seksyen 302 Kanun Keseksaan yang membawa hukuman mati mandatori.--fotoBERNAMA (2014) HAKCIPTA TERPELIHARA

PUTRAJAYA: The Federal Court has set aside a former tow truck driver’s conviction for the murder of Arab-Malaysian Bank (AmBank) founder Hussain Ahmad Najadi and ordered his case to go for a retrial.

A five-man Bench chaired by Chief Judge of Malaya Tan Sri Zulkefli Ahmad Makinudin unani­mously allowed Koong Swee Kwan’s (pic) appeal for the matter to be sent back to the High Court for a retrial.
