Azalina: Federal law prevails over state law

PETALING JAYA: The Government's Bill to amend the Law Reform (Marriage and Divorce) Act 1976 (LRA), when passed, will prevail over any state law that is inconsistent with the amendment, says Datuk Seri Azalina Othman (pic).

"It should be noted that Article 75 of the Federal Constitution provides that any State law that is inconsistent with a Federal law, the Federal law shall prevail over the State law," said the Minister in the Prime Minister's Department.
