PETALING JAYA: You can now enjoy the best of Asian content on dimsum while on the go without having to worry about using up your monthly data quota.
Local telco Digi is zero-rating the video-on-demand service via its Video Freedom service and U Mobile through its Video-Onz offering for both new and existing customers on selected plans.
“This partnership will enable subscribers to enjoy dimsum anywhere and anytime with affordable data plans,” said dimsum chief marketing officer Lam Swee Kim.
The service offers content from countries such as China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Malaysia, with up to five concurrent users able to enjoy dimsum on multiple devices.
“The dimsum app offers a very targeted streaming service that suits our digitally-savvy customers, offering a good mixture of video content choices especially for customers who love Chinese and Asian content,” said U Mobile chief marketing officer Jasmine Lee.
“Our customers can now watch content at the same time it is being aired overseas. U Mobile is always looking to work closely with more partners to enhance our customers’ viewing for Video-Onz.”
This month dimsum will simulcast the live-action version of TV drama Chibi Maruko-chan and idol drama High 5 from Taiwan and Doctor-X from Japan.
Said Loh Keh Jiat, Digi’s chief marketing officer: “We see a strong growing demand for local and regional movies and series, with customers also looking to move away from scheduled time belts which is why we’ve also introduced new home broadband plans.”
Exclusive Japanese dramas such as Age Harassment, CSI3, Border and Love Stories from Fukuoka 2015-2016 will also be streamed on dimsum.
At the same time, subscribers can indulge in the exclusive Malaysian premieres of the epic Chinese fantasy costume drama Chinese Paladin 5, Singapore series Yes, Mdm, and popular online drama The Devil Game and Lost? Me too.
