Johor announces surplus in the state's Budget 2017

ISKANDAR PUTERI: The Johor government has announced a surplus state budget for the seventh year in a row since 2011.

Mentri Besar Datuk Mohamed Khaled Nordin (pix) said until Nov 16 this year, a total of RM1.369bil had been collected with performance levels equivalent to 96% of the estimated revenue of RM1.425bil.

He said the state revenue collection for 2017 was expected to reach RM1.609bil, an increase of 12.86% from  the revenue estimated in Budget 2016.

Mohamed Khaled added that the budget expenditure for 2017 was at RM1.607bil, which is an increase of RM1.802bil or 12.89% compared with this year.
