PUTRAJAYA: Malaysia's decision to introduce Goods and Service Tax (GST) has helped it survive a shortfall in revenue caused by the volatile global economic situation, said the Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD).
Alvaro Pereira, the OECD's director of country studies, economics department, praised Malaysia's "courage" in implementing GST, saying the move helped the country cope during the global decrease in oil prices.
