Bag of laughs: Harith says he will focus on universal themes related to humanity in the semi-finals.

KUALA LUMPUR: The man who never wanted to pit himself against his fellow Malaysian comedians is in the running to be the Funniest Person in the World as he advances to the semi-finals of a major international competition.

Harith Iskander will soon make his way to Helsinki, Finland, for the next stage of the competition organised by Laugh Factory – a chain of comedy clubs in the United States – after beating 88 others, including Malaysian doctor-turned-comedian Dr Jason Leong, in the first round.
