GEORGE TOWN: Lim Guan Eng has urged DAP members to support his proposal for state party chairman Chow Kon Yeow to be the next Penang chief minister.
"I ask the convention, members and leaders, to endorse my proposal that Chow takes over from me as Penang chief minister should Barisan Nasional succeed in their attacks against me.
"We shall defend DAP and Penang from Barisan together as one team, one spirit and one party.
"DAP is not just one individual, but is a collective leadership.
"Penang and the DAP will continue the struggle, whatever happens to me," said Lim, who is also DAP secretary-general, during the Penang DAP Convention at Vistana Hotel Sunday.
Lim is currently on trial over two corruption charges.
