GEORGE TOWN: While Deepavali celebrations in the Klang Valley was muted due to water cuts, people in Penang are having too much of it with floods swamping their homes as heavy rain inundated many parts of the island.
Sungai Air Hitam burst its banks during the three-hour downpour which started at around 4.30pm, causing the water to flow onto major roads such as Jalan Masjid Negeri and Scotland Road.
