PETALING JAYA: Opposition lawmaker Dr Ong Kian Ming wants the budget allocation for the Environment Department (DOE) to be increased so it can carry out more effective monitoring and enforcement.
The Serdang MP said he was shocked to learn that the allocation for the Department's monitoring and enforcement activities had been slashed by RM28.5mil in Budget 2017 tabled in Parliament on Oct 21, a 27.1 percentage point reduction from the previous year's allocation.
