KUALA LUMPUR: The family of Indonesian Riduan Isamuddin also known as Hambali, the alleged mastermind of the Bali bombings that killed 202, was dealt a blow when a review board rejected his plea to be released from Guantanamo prison where he has been held for more than 10 years.
Hambali, 52, known as the Osama bin Laden of South-East Asia, had pleaded to be released last August before the Guantanamo’s Periodic Review Board, saying “he just wants to ... be peaceful, that he bore no ill feelings towards the United States”.
