THE move to separate solid waste at source has not only encouraged recycling efforts among the people, but has also saved the Government about RM7mil in operational costs to manage landfills, says the Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Ministry.
Deputy Minister Datuk Halimah Mohd Sadique said the separation at source was done by premises in seven states which enforced the Solid Waste and Public Cleansing Management Act 2007.
