PETALING JAYA: There was a blackout in parts of Bangsar, stretching from the Bangsar Shopping Centre near Damansara to Mid Valley Megamall.
Many took to Twitter to voice their frustrations, coining the hashtag #BangsarBlackout to share their experiences.
Senior client executive Jason Lioh tweeted: “Watching movie at @GSCinemas Mid Valley when #BangsarBlackout happened.”
Datin Paduka Marina Mahathir was one of those affected by the blackout.
“My house is dark, the whole street is dark,” said the social activist, who was at home in Bangsar.
Twitter user @jayzslam said she was grateful that she had left her Bangsar workplace at 6.30pm.
“Colleagues still in the dark and there are people stuck in the lift.”
A spokesman from Tenaga Nasional Bhd said tripping at the Pantai main substation caused temporary power failure.
“Power was restored in stages in just three minutes from the start of the outage at 6.34pm.
“Work is ongoing to reconnect supply to some parts of Bangsar Village,” he said, adding that the cause of the tripping was being investigated.
