Warisan Sabah gets 7,000 online membership applications


KOTA KINABALU: Newly registered Parti Warisan Sabah, headed by former Umno vice-president Datuk Mohd Shafie Apdal (pic), has attracted some 7,000 membership applications from around the state.  

Party secretary-general Loretto Padua Jr said these were only though its online membership applications.

“We are in the process of approving these applications,” he said here on Thursday, adding that printed versions of the membership forms would soon be distributed.

“We are overwhelmed by the enthusiasm shown by Sabahans towards Warisan Sabah and are grateful to all on the positiveness shown,” he added. 

Padua Jr said Warisan Sabah had yet to approve any pro-tem divisional committees its leaders were gearing up for the party’s statewide roadshow to introduce its cause and struggles.

“While we acknowledge the enthusiasm shown by our supporters who are eager to launch at the divisional levels, we shall proceed with the requisite procedures required by the party constitution,” he said.

According to him, the party was attracting many Sabahans as it comprised a blend of experienced and fresh energetic politicians.
