PETALING JAYA: Several areas in Petaling, Hulu Langat and Sepang still haven’t had water supply restored as water in the service reservoirs had not reached its optimum level.
They were scheduled to receive water supply in stages from 4pm Tuesday according to Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Syabas).
The Semenyih water treatment plant resumed operations at 1:30 pm Monday after it was shut down for 30 hours due to odour pollution.
Syabas had on Monday said that said water supply would be distributed in stages based on a schedule beginning Tuesday.
The schedule is divided into two zones with Zone 1 supposed to receive water at 4pm on Tuesday, before being disconnected at 9am Wednesday.
Zone 2 is scheduled receive water at 4pm Wednesday until 9am Friday, followed by two-day supplies for each zone until Nov 2.
“Every effort is being undertaken to stabilize and expedite the recovery of water supply in Zone 1,” Syabas said in a statement on Tuesday.
It said that relief water supply will continue to be delivered by water tankers to affected areas in Hulu Langat, Kuala Langat, Sepang and Petaling Districts.“Consumers are advised to use water prudently to expedite the water recovery in all affected areas,” said Syabas.
