Perlis mufti: Look at the content of food, not its name


PETALING JAYA: Whether food is halal (permissible) or haram (forbidden) depends on its content, and not its name, said Dr Asri Zainul Abidin (pix). 

The Perlis mufti said that the Mata Kucing fruit (literally means cats eyes) is halal although it is haram to eat the eyes of a cat.
