MIRI: The High Court here has dismissed the first election petition case filed in Sarawak over the 11th state polls because the petitioner, Datuk Hii King Chong, did not comply with certain legal requirements when making the application.

The High Court's Justice Ravinthran Paramaguru ruled that Hii, the BN direct candidate in the Pujut state constituency, had failed to pay the RM10,000 deposit in cash with the Court as required by law, and had presented a cheque for the amount instead.
