Parents cry foul over exorbitant fees

SHAH ALAM: Going to school is no longer as cheap as it used to be, it seems. Parents of pupils in SJK(C) Kheng Chee, Puchong, are complaining that they were told to pay more than RM450 for various school fees just this year alone. Unable to bear the burden, some of the parents gathered at the Selangor State Education Department yesterday to make their concerns heard.

Ng Ji Yin, 39, who has two children at the school, described it as “the family paying instalments every month”.
