PETALING JAYA: A Belgian was found dead after he went missing during the hash run competition in Kuala Kubu Baru.

The man, identified as Thomas Cools (pic), never made it to the finish line of the 9th International Hash Challenge which ran from 7am to 7.30pm on Saturday.

A search for him by the organisers, Hash House Harriers and contestants, along the 42km forest trail yielded no results.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Mohd Sani Harul said the organisers contacted them around 3.48pm on Sunday.

"Search team of 21 men from various agencies including police was set up and search and rescue operations began around 8am on Monday.

"Around two hours later, we found his body on the slope of Bukit Tarik near Kampung Orang Asli Kerling," he said when contacted.
