JOHOR BARU: Ikea Malaysia will open its third and largest store in Malaysia to the public at the end of 2017.

A groundbreaking ceremony took place to symbolise the start of construction work to its first store in the southern region at Jalan Desa Tebrau here.

Ikea South-East Asia managing director Christian Rojkjaer said the RM592mil-project spanning 46,713 sq m would continue to provide well-designed, functional home furnishing products at low prices for the Johor market.

"With Johor's thriving development and growth of its population, we see a huge opportunity in playing our part in this impressive progress," he said before the groundbreaking ceremony Thursday.
