History ‘recreated’ – and it’s good for Malacca


MALACCA: Some 600 years ago, a fleet of ships led by China’s Admiral Cheng Ho arrived in Malacca, bringing oriental trea­sures including porcelain, silk and tea leaves for trade.

Yesterday, like those who came before them, 32 delegates – made up of officials and entrepreneurs – from China stood not far away from where Cheng Ho first landed, the site where one of the state’s biggest project, Malacca Gateway, is being built.
