JOHOR BARU: Johor Umno has always placed struggles of the party first and foremost compared to the leaders in the party said Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein (pic).

The Umno vice-president said that Johor Umno has always been unique and different from the others, especially when the party was facing challenges.

"Look at our past history, Umno Johor even rejected the founder of the party Datuk Onn Jaafar, Tun Dr Ismail Abdul Rahman, and Tun Musa Hitam.

"Umno Johor has always put the importance of leadership and upholding the party's struggle than the leaders themselves," he said.

Hishamuddin said this in his speech before officiating the Johor Baru Umno meeting here on Saturday.

He pointed out that through such qualities, Johor has and would always be a fortress for Umno and Barisan Nasional.

"I am confident that when Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak dissolves the parliament and calls for the general elections, Johor will always belong to Umno," he said.
