Police hunting Uber driver who robbed passenger

GEORGE TOWN: The police are in the midst of tracking down an Uber driver who allegedly robbed an Indonesian factory operator of RM2,000 in cash and valuables last Saturday in Bayan Lepas.

The victim, Yab Melva Novasia Sinaga reported her losses as comprising RM1,150 cash, two million Rupiahs (RM613), a necklace and a handphone.

Southwest district police chief Supt Anuar Omar said the incident occurred about 5.30pm at a dead end after the woman had called for an Uber ride to go home in Batu Maung. – Bernama
