NEW YORK: Malaysia, as the United Nations Security Council rotating president, has offered assistance on the issue of migrants and refugees especially from Syria and Myanmar.

Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said Malaysia gave its commitment at the UN General Assembly last year to accept 3,000 Syrian refugees over a period of five years.
