SEREMBAN: A three-year-old boy who did not get immunisation for diphtheria has become the first victim in Selangor and 27th nationwide to be taken ill by the highly contagious bacterial infection.
The boy fell sick on Aug 13 and was taken to the Sg Buloh Hospital for treatment five days later after he began experiencing breathing difficulties, said Health director-general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
