NEW YORK: Taking into account the severity of the threats to national security and defence, the Malaysian government has appointed a military officer as the director-general of the National Security Council (NSC), it was announced here Wednesday.
Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who made the announcement, said Defence Forces chief Jen Tan Sri Zulkifeli Mohd Zin has been appointed the first director-general of the council.
