NEW YORK: As a United Nations Security Council member, Malaysia will play a crucial role in selecting the body’s next secretary-general, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

Current UN secretary-general Ban Ki-moon’s term will end this year.
