Retired soldier on 500km patriotic run


ALOR SETAR, 21 Ogos -- LARIAN MERDEKA ... Bekas tentera, Nasir Abas, 61, memulakan larian Merdeka sejauh 500 kilometer dari Dataran Masjid Zahir ke Dataran Merdeka di ibu negara hari ini. ALOR SETAR: Retired soldier Nasir Abas has begun his 500km run from here to Kuala Lumpur to celebrate the 59th Merdeka celebrations.

He began his run from the Zahir Mosque yesterday with the aim to instil the spirit of patriotism among youths, who he said seemed to forget the true meaning of independence.
