KOTA KINABALU: Malaysian security agencies are stepping up their intelligence-gathering efforts in Sabah’s east coast to tackle cross-border crime.
Deputy Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Noor Rashid Ibrahim (pic) said the renewed focus is also in gathering “quality intelligence” to enable security forces to take proactive action against criminals, notably kidnap-for-ransom groups.
