PETALING JAYA: Motorists heading into Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday morning were caught in an unusual traffic gridlock due to a stalled trailer along Jalan Istana.
Star Media Radio Traffic reported at 9.17am that traffic was backed up over 15km from the Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) exit along the KL-Seremban highway heading into the city centre.
The trailer, which was transporting 20 tonnes of concrete, stalled near the Alice Smith School turnoff leading to Jalan Damansara at about 7.50am and was still being cleared as of 10am.
In its 11.45am update, Star Media Radio Traffic said the stalled trailer has been removed from the location but traffic is still at a crawl from the Sg Besi poll plaza off the KL Seremban highway.
The incident also caused a further crawl on the Besraya Highway, from Pudu Ulu Park.
Road users can expect more than an hour’s delay along the route and are advised to use alternative means to get into the city.
