Penang government feels betrayed over Unesco status issue

GEORGE TOWN: The state government felt like “being stabbed in the back” over the alleged interference by the Penang Forum on the proposed Penang Transport Master Plan (PTMP).  

It was reported that the Penang Forum had submitted a 15-page letter to Unesco’s World Heritage Centre in Paris, highlighting the PTMP, which could have a negative impact on the outstanding universal value of the George Town world heritage properties.
