PETALING JAYA: MCA will continue to oppose PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang's Private Member's Bill, saying it is an attempt to disguise the imposition of hudud in the country.
"I reiterate that MCA does not accept the statement that Abdul Hadi's Private Member's Bill is merely intended to expand the sentencing authority of the Syariah Court and has nothing to do with the Kelantan hudud enactment," said the party's secretary-general Datuk Seri Ong Ka Chuan (pic) in a statement on Thursday.
