JOHOR BARU: The Australian High Commissioner to Malaysia is expected to seek a royal audience with the Johor Sultan on Wednesday.

Australian Commissioner Rod Smith, who is on a two-day visit to Johor, said he is expected to seek an audience with Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar at Istana Bukit Serene at around noon on Wednesday.

He will then pay a courtesy call to Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Mohamed Khaled Nordin  after that, Smith told pressmen during a press conference at DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel on Tuesday evening.

Asked about the sister cities plan proposed for Johor Baru and Perth, Smith said, "maybe that will be one of the issues that will be discussed during the audience with the Sultan."
