Petaling Jaya: The driving force behind Projek 57, the social enterprise that promotes the ideals of our founding fathers, gives its full support to next month’s Anak-Anak Malaysia walk.

Projek 57 co-founder Syed Sadiq Albar said the walk promotes similar values – racial tolerance, religious harmony, unity and diversity.

“We should all stand proud and tall together for what the country is. This is also what #AnakAnakMalaysia Walk is all about and what better way to celebrate by walking side by side together in a healthy event,” he said, adding that he would be present at the walk on Aug 14.

Lions Club International will also be sending a team to participate in the Anak-Anak Malaysia Walk.

In conjunction with the club’s centennial celebration this year, Lions Club International District 308B2 Malaysia, Region 5 chairman Lee Teck Leong said 100 club members and their families from the region will be joining the walk.

“I understand that the walk is being held ahead of the National Day celebration, which makes it a timely event to get Malaysians to come together for a common purpose.

“The walk’s message of promoting unity, harmony and tolerance is also very meaningful,” he said.

Lee, who was speaking at the 28th installation ceremony of the Lions Club of PJ Metro’s board of directors for 2016-2017, thanked the board for co-ordinating the event on behalf of Lions Club International.

Star Media Group special officer in the group managing director/ CEO’s office Loo Phan Kooi handed over the forms and posters for the Anak-Anak Malaysia Walk to senior representatives of Lions Club International.

The representatives included Global Leadership Team area leader and Past Council chairman Datuk Patrick Chew, District 308B2 past district governor Woon Foong Piew, Global Leadership Team district coordinator Shirley Koh, Zone 16 chairman Yvonne Cheong, and Lions Club of PJ Metro president Patricia Ngiau.

In his speech, Chew said: “Tonight we are witnessing the partnership between Star Media Group and Lions Club International.

“We fully support the event and want to share with fellow Malaysians the message of embracing tolerance, unity and moderation.”
