> Many “investors” of the Nanning investment scheme have tried to get their money back after the media exposed it as a get-rich-quick scam, Oriental Daily reported.
Some of the “investors” even sought “help” from underworld lords after they failed to get their money back from those who recruited them.
It reported that the Nanning investment scheme had been popular in southern Malaysia for quite some time.
Sources said a car dealer from Johor was worried about his and his family’s safety after he failed to return the money to his “investors”.
“The ‘investors’ now find it hard to recruit new members and so, they cannot get their money back,” sources said.
Some of the “investors”, the daily added, were too embarrassed to admit that they had fallen victim to the scam.
