A once pristine waterfall suffers from neglect

GEORGE TOWN: Air Terjun Bayan Lepas – a place former prime minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi used to swim in during his childhood – is now murky and has become a rubbish dump.

The waterfall, which is better known to locals as Air Terjun Pak Lah because of its link to Abdullah, used to be a popular picnic spot but it has been allowed to degenerate over the years.
