Researchers to make Sabah key player in renewable fuel

KOTA KINABALU: A joint team of Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) researchers and their German counterparts is set to make the state a key player in the production of renewable fuel from palm oil waste.

The joint research with Dusseldorf-based Autodisplay Biotech GmBH is ground-breaking in that it would be among the cheapest methods to convert oil palm empty fruit bunches (EFB) into bio-ethanol.
