Azmin: Charging of Penang CM a new low in our politics

PETALING JAYA: The charging of Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng (pic) is a new low in Malaysian politics since the prosecution of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim almost two decades ago, Selangor Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Azmin Ali said.

Azmin said Lim’s case capped a series of events over the week, citing the sacking of former deputy prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and former Kedah mentri besar Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir as well as the suspension of Datuk Seri Shafie Apdal from Umno, the continued trashing of the Citizen’s Declaration led by former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and controversial remarks made by Pahang mufti Datuk Seri Dr Abdul Rahman Osman towards DAP, calling it kafir harbi.
