Langkawi cops to use bar code to combat motorcycle theft


LANGKAWI: Langkawi police plan to introduce the use of the bar code as a new innovation to combat motorcycle thefts in the island.

Its police chief Supt Dr Che Ghazali Che Awang said the owners of 3,000 motorcycles registered in Langkawi would be the first group to try out the new system, which would commence in August, in conjunction with a motorcycle theft prevention campaign on the resort island.
