ACCCIM: SMEs must adhere to new container rules

PETALING JAYA: Small and medium enterprises are being guided to adhere to the new international maritime regulation that requires shippers to verify the gross mass of a container carrying cargo, said the Associated Chinese Chambers of Com­merce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM).

Its logistics and transport committee deputy chairman Kenneth Tiong said the International Con­ven­­tion for the Safety of Life at Sea (Solas) regulation would come into effect worldwide on July 1.
