Profiteers blamed for fruitprice hike


PETALING JAYA: Prices of bananas and papayas have drastically increased during the fasting month and the Consumers Association of Penang (CAP) wants action to be taken against profiteering suppliers.

CAP education officer N.V. Subbarao said bananas had gone from RM4 to RM6 a kilo in several markets in Penang three days ago.
