Uncle: All the money we raised was handed over to cops


SIBU: Under pressure over where the donations they collected have gone, family members of the four Sarawakian sailors taken hostage by Abu Sayyaf militants say they raised RM12mil and handed the money to the police.

Datuk Lau Cheng Kiong, the uncle of one of the released hostages, Johnny Lau Jung Hien, told repor­ters at a press conference yesterday that all the money raised was handed over to the Special Branch in Sandakan on May 24.
