Kuala Kangsar polls: Handing out of ‘goodies’ can be an offence, EC clarifies


KUALA KANGSAR: Election Commission (EC) member Datuk Abd Aziz Khalidin has clarified that the handing out of “goodies” such as cash and rice by political parties can be an offence if there is evidence to suggest that it was given specifically to influence voters to vote for a certain party.

Commenting on reports on Tuesday quoting him as saying that the EC saw no wrongdoing in the cash allocations and giving out of food items to voters in Kuala Kangsar, Abd Aziz said those actions were not an offence per se.
