KUALA KANGSAR: PAS has threatened to take legal action against those who put up billboards accusing them of conspiring with Umno.

Vice-president Idris Ahmad (pic) challenged those responsible to repeat their wild allegations openly, saying that their actions were a desperate attempt to gain votes.

"PAS firmly states that this is the dirtiest form of slander, done by those who are very desperate to win votes.

"We challenge them to repeat their allegations openly, so that PAS can take legal action against them," he told a press conference on Thursday.

The billboards were erected at three locations in Kuala Kangsar and have been removed by Election Commission (EC) staff ahead of the June 18 parliamentary by-election.

PAS also asked the police and the EC to further investigate the matter.

"PAS is contesting against Umno in Kuala Kangsar, so it is weird to suggest that we are working with them,” he said.
