PETALING JAYA: A democratically elected government and its members in office should be open to “uninhibited public criticism” in relation to their administration, the Court of Appeal ruled.
In a written judgment on the defamation suit between Pahang Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Adnan Yaakob and Utusan Melayu (M) Bhd, Justice Idrus Harun said it went against public interest to stifle critiques of the Government.
