SUNGAI BESAR: Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad will campaign for Pakatan Harapan to garner support for his Citizens' Declaration movement ahead of the Sungai Besar and Kuala Kangsar by-elections on June 18.
This was revealed by former Umno Batu Kawan vice-chief Datuk Seri Khairuddin Abu Hassan.
"He will surely come down to campaign in Sungai Besar and Kuala Kangsar to deny Barisan Nasional the victory," he said when met with Pakatan Harapan leaders during nomination day, here, Sunday.
He said that if the Opposition pact organised a signature drive for the declaration, "Dr Mahathir will surely come”.
He said a schedule is being arranged for the former prime minister during the campaigning period for the by-elections.
Pakatan has fielded a candidate from Parti Amanah Negara, Azhar Abdul Syukur, to face Barisan Nasional and former ally, PAS in Sungai Besar.
Kuala Kangsar will see a four-way fight between Amanah, PAS, Barisan and an independent candidate.
