KUALA LUMPUR: While Britain and Malaysia are already sharing intelligence on terrorism activities and transboundary crimes, more collaboration is needed to share data on paedophiles as it can help both countries speed up the arrest of such criminals, said Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation vice-chairman Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye.
Commenting in regard to child sex offender Richard Huckle, Lee said through such ties, counselling and necessary assistance could also be given sooner to the victims and families after the traumatic experience.
